Below is a copy of the letter I sent to the Drury Brothers. Both these gentlemen took time out of their busy
schedules to write personal letters to my son and myself. They also included a small package for Mark when
he gets older. They didn’t have to do this but they did. Thus confirming what I already knew about them.

Dear Mark and Terry,
My brother Scott and I both serve our country in the Military. Unfortunately my brother has
Leukemia and won’t be able to serve the U.S. Navy any more. However, he underwent a bone
marrow transplant and every thing is fine for now. I was Scott’s non-medical attendant and
provided for his every need for four months. During the 100 days immediately following his bone
marrow transplant, Scott was so weak he wasn’t able to get out side much. He also wasn’t
allowed to enter into the woods. Scott is a former game warden who has spent the last 7 years
serving our country overseas and unable to hunt. To make matters even worse we were in San
Antonio just minutes away from the deer infested Texas hill country. To ease our insatiable need
to hunt and be outdoors we watched hundreds of hours of your hunting videos. While I was
assisting my brother, I found out that my wife and I were expecting a baby. I decided right then
that if it were a boy, his name would be Mark Terry Wuest. He is named after two professional
gentlemen who unknowingly, but greatly assisted in the welfare of two U.S. servicemen. Your
dedication to sportsmanship, your ethics, and your knowledge impressed me so much that I
couldn’t think of any other names. Mark Terry Wuest was born at 3:17 a.m. February 01, 2002 at
5 lbs. 3 oz. Whenever I call my son’s name I’ll be reminded of the time spent saving my brother’s
life and also of two hunters we should all emulate.
